Brothers Benjamin and Dylan are two of the most friendly and capable guys you could ever meet so it is no wonder that they are the brains behind one of Ireland’s most sleek, eye-catching, and stylish dog brands, Ecclesia. We recently had the pleasure of doing a Q&A with Benjamin about their business journey to date.

Q. First and foremost, we love the name. Can you tell us a bit about it and why you chose it?

A. We originally came up with the name as myself (Benjamin) and my brother Dylan decided we were going to go into business together and we were trying out a few different business names and we then decided to translate our second name which is ‘Church’ and the Latin word for church is ‘Ecclesia’, and the rest was history.

Q. Can you tell us about Ecclesia and what inspired you to start the company?

A. When we first decided we were going to start a company together, I was working in McDonalds and Dylan was working as a Personal trainer. We were both unhappy in our current jobs and knew we needed something to change. We had always aspired to be successful and to achieve some sort of financial freedom to break free from our current jobs so we decided we would start a business together. I’ve always had a strong passion for nature and animals, especially dogs, and Dylan always kept up with the latest trends and had an interest in streetwear. We combined both of our passions and came up with the idea for Ecclesia. To have a company that would allow us to do what we loved and have a positive impact on the lives of dogs across the world.

Q. How have you found the journey so far?

A. We have found that the journey so far has been one of extreme value. One of the biggest lessons I think we have learned is that if things are not going the way you expected them too it can also mean they are going even better than you ever could ever imagine. It’s been a great journey so far and we are looking forward to reaching our full potential in the near future and accomplishing all the goals we have set for ourselves as well as setting new ones.

Q. How would you describe the personality and values of your brand?

A. Ecclesia was created for the proud dog owners across the world. For the people who share a deep connection with their companions. Ecclesia is the way to express how truly proud you are of your dog without having to say a word, our promise to our customers is that our products function as good as they look. We are here to help strengthen the bond between owners and their dogs across the world by giving them a product that can truly show how good your dog can look and how proud you are of them.

Q. How do you want your brand to be perceived by customers?

A. We want to be the go-to brand worldwide when you want to spoil your dog with some new dogwear. We are going to be the number 1 choice if you ever want to get some stylish dogwear and show the world how much you love your dog. 

Q. Do you have any design elements or motifs that you want to incorporate consistently across your products?

A. One thing we will always incorporate consistently in our designs is our logo as it is our brand identity and it represents who we are and how much our loyal customers love their dogs.

Q. What do you love the most about running Ecclesia?

A. The thing I think we love the most about running Ecclesia is to be able to consistently spend as much time as possible around dogs. Myself and Dylan love dogs and to be able to make a living by spending as much time as possible around them is truly a dream come true and that’s what it is all about for us. Having a business that we love to show up to everyday and that surrounds us with the things we care about most.

A. Ecclesia ships worldwide, anywhere from Europe to the US

Q. Finally, tell us something interesting about yourselves that we may not know?

A. One thing you may not know about us is that we source all our models and dogs locally to give the people around us and in our community a chance to get involved in what we do and for us all to win together.
